One of a bunch of pieces of character art I’ve been doing for my website. This one’s Toni. She’s strong and skeptical, doesn’t take the world at face value, but tries to get along in it anyway. Since she tends to fight against the tide, her interactions with Ralph (her boss) and his crew are some of my favorite parts to write. When all of the characters are done I’ll post a photoset of them.
The reason I’m posting this one is because a couple people have mentioned to me that they like to see process work, so I figured why the hell not? You can see, besides the fact that there isn’t much to my process at all, that I started over a couple times for good reason in those first sketches. The first one, while okay-ish, looks like she’s jump-roping, and the second is just weaker and less functional than the other two in general.
If people like seeing this kind of thing, I’ll do a couple more of maybe a backgrounded piece or something.
